They debited my bank account several times and cause an over charge over 300 dollars. Very bad place. They got upset at me over 27 dollar when they owe me over 300 dollar. They cause me over 135 dollars of NSF fees and all they can do is divert it to Paypal. This is why people stop being christian because of this kind of BS. A non christian organization would help out more than this christian organization. Never buy books from them unless you want to be over charge and treated rudely.
I ordered an in stock item. A few days later I was told the item was out of stock and back ordered.
I sent a complaint because although other sites had the product when I placed my order they were now either out of store or had a significant price increase.
They responded they were canceling my back order. I did not request this and sent them another complaint. Their response, you must place a new order. (Wow, and pay more!)
Dont trust this site. Yes, I am a Christian and think this vendor is masquerading under the title of Christian.

I was looking for LEGO ® Icons Botanical Bonsai Tree, which was sold out everywhere, but this site had it available for $5.00 less than MSRP, but for preorder. I had never ordered from here before, but decided to try it out. Sure enough, the item came through on time, about 1 month after I had ordered it. They even sent me periodic updates -- i ordered the item on 4/17, I received an update (just confirming the order is still in) on 5/2 and 5/12, then a shipping notification on 5/17. It arrived on 5/23.
I have placed several orders from this company for the last 3 years and have never encountered a problem. The prices are difficult to beat, the shipping is fast if the item is in stock and the customer service is always good. From my experience, I recommend them.
They took the initial money out for the Bible I ordered and took the money out again a week later and they refused to refund the money and say it's my Banks fault when my bank says it's up to them to give me back my money not the bank. I don't recommend ordering from them they like to take money and pretend to be Christian and rip people off all in God's name they're pathetic and disgusting a poor excuse for a website
It is and has been very good site! I have ordered a lot of Bibles from them and a few other things and have always been happy! It would be great to have them open store, but, I am glad to visit and order from them!
Customer service is poor. I ordered a Bible on Monday of this week. It sat for three days in a FedEx distribution center in the town where CBD is located. I contacted CBD several times over this issue via e-mail and never received a response. I have found this to be typical from having problems with other orders in the past. They do not work on behalf of the people who keep them in business.
I found out today that I could have purchased the same Bible from Walmart.com for three dollars less than what I paid for the same edition at CBD--and I could have had it shipped to me for free with guaranteed delivery in two business days.
And the Customer Service Reps at Walmart.com treat every customer complaint with the respect it is due.
I won't be doing business with CBD ever again.
On April 2, I placed an order with Christianbook.com over the phone. The lady was very friendly and professional, making sure I got the lowest price on each book. She said my order would arrive within one to two weeks, as it was coming from MA to CA, via FedEx, and would come in one box. I tracked it daily on my FedEx App, and it came today on Sunday, April 11. The driver ran up to my door with a big smile, handing me the box and wishing me a good day. The box was sturdy and attractive, with the Christianbook.com logo on it. It was properly packed so the books wouldn't shift around, and the new books were in perfect condition. Other than the time it took to ship my order, I would rate Christianbook.com with five stars and would feel comfortable ordering from them again.
Package indicates shipped on April 6th. 5 days later and two customer service reps, package still hasn’t left CBD warehouse. Told it doesn’t matter...that FedEx isn’t updating their tracking info regularly DUE TO COVID of course! If I don’t receive my item by the 20th, call back so we can look into it...SO FRUSTRATING! I paid for FAST shipping, I want my shipping refunded.
I had canceled an order because it was on backorder (twice) and I found it elsewhere. My account showed that it was canceled, yet they sent the books to me anyway. I immediately contacted them and told them that the package had been damaged and that I had canceled the order, did not want it, and asked what to do. They never responded. About a month later, I received a charge on my credit card. I contacted them and was told that it was for the books they had sent. I told them that I had canceled the order. They said for me to get a refund, I had to return the books AT MY EXPENSE!! I requested a refund for the return shipping as well as the books. They didn't even give me a full refund for the books. They have never responded to any of my emails. I expect more of a business that calls themselves "Christian"
I have ordered from them 3 times now- never any issues and fast turn around time for my order! Will continue to do business with them.
SmartPost is the worst service for shipping...period! If they are going to charge for shipping should use something better. Will never order from them again. Nine days for something that would have arrived in 3 using first class USPS.
I have shopped with Christianbook several times in the past including one with a hiccup that was fixed. This past order through has made it my last. I ordered Bibles for my shop on Jan 14th this year. A week or so later they arrived but were the wrong Bibles. I contacted Customer service and they sent a refund label and a new shipment of Bibles. Again, they were the wrong ones. I called customer service this time to straighten things around and was told the right ones would be shipped right away and that the SKU labels were wrong in warehouse. A week later I got an email that they looked into the mixup and saw that the pictures on the listing were for the wrong cover of Bibles and said it was their mistake, but they would not be sending the Bibles I thought I was getting on the listing and told me if I wanted the correct ones I would need to pay more. I declined as I had already spent my budget for Bibles and could not spend more. I sent back the boxes of incorrect Bibles for a refund. A few weeks passed and I emailed as my tracking showed the Bibles had been returned and I still didn’t have the return to my bank account. I was told if I provided tracking numbers they would refund the money right away. I sent tracking numbers and was then told they could not process the return until the Bibles had been processed and that it could take 2+ weeks to even get to them. So here we are, nearly 2 months later and the return still has not hit my bank account. Normally I let these things slide because I know how hectic things can get but I was told one thing and then another and the issues with the Bibles wasn’t even my fault.
I have been buying from Christianbook.com for several years. Most of the time I am happy with them. What I do not like is the books are not all Bible based, therefore not Christian. I have to be really careful when choosing books for myself, or others. It isn't an easy task. I would love to give a higher rating, and am tempted to give a lower rating. Yes I will continue to buy from them.
